Christmas Cheer

Supposedly the best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing a song for all to hear. Whether or not that’s true, I don’t know. But what I do know is that after years and years of hearing the same songs during Christmas one can get tired of them. With that said, there are always a few visionaries out there doing something new.

Today I present to you two of my favorite Christmas songs from artists who have taken on the task of creating new Christmas songs.

Firstly, Sufjan Stevens’ “Get Behind Me Santa,” a whimsical song about being sour during this jubilant season.

Secondly, Dustin Kensrue’s “This Is War,” a song that compares Jesus’ birth/life to a war.

Happy listening and Merry Christmas.
